Franchise Owner, The Exercise Coach – Mountain View
TJCCSFBA Vice President
Hello everyone, my name is Shawn Chou. I immigrated to the United States with my family when I was 14 and a half years old. After graduating from high school, I earned my degree from San Jose State University. During college, I worked part-time while attending classes. After graduation, I joined Panda Express, starting as a supervisor and eventually becoming a store manager.
Through my work experience, I discovered that my purpose in life is to help others become better. This inspired me to franchise The Exercise Coach, opening a branch in Mountain View with the goal of helping more people become stronger and healthier.
I joined the Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce in the San Francisco Bay Area to meet more friends and provide a platform for Chinese communities in the U.S. to connect and support one another—whether they are new immigrants or have lived in America for many years—so that we can grow together.
Education Professional
TJCCSFBA Secretary General
This is my second year with the Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce in the Bay Area. Having visited many Taiwanese community groups across the region, I find our Chamber to be truly unique and full of energy.
I work in education and enjoy seeking inspiration from design, discovering creative ideas, and wandering around to find little surprises in everyday life. Joining the Chamber’s leadership team wasn’t about business opportunities or networking—it was a wonderful coincidence that brought me to a group of incredibly kind, approachable, and down-to-earth friends. Their passion and sincerity embody the spirit of Taiwan and the vitality of youth.
The Chamber brings together young people from Taiwan, uniting us with the shared mission of serving overseas Taiwanese youth. Through this yearbook, I hope you can feel our warmth. If you ever get the chance, we’d love for you to meet us!
I’m Jill Chen, Secretary General of the Chamber, proudly from Kaohsiung—the city once home to the “Love Ferris Wheel.”
Drug Discovery & Translational Medicine Specialist, AbbVie
TJCCSFBA Head of event Planning
I am from Taipei and graduated from National Cheng Kung University with a degree in Life Sciences. In pursuit of my scientific dreams, I moved to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in Immunology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where I focused on studying the connection between the immune system and disease.
After earning my doctorate, I joined AbbVie, first in Massachusetts and later in California, specializing in drug discovery and translational medicine. My work is dedicated to transforming scientific discoveries into therapies that can change patients’ lives.
Beyond my role as a scientist, I also serve as the Director of Events for the Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce in the Bay Area. I am passionate about creating programs that blend culture and community, helping overseas Taiwanese connect, share stories, and support one another. From Tainan to Cleveland, and from Massachusetts to California, I have sought to bring the warmth, culture, and values of Taiwan into every city I’ve lived in—introducing Taiwan to more people while strengthening our diaspora community and extending our shared bonds and impact.
District Manager, PepsiCo – Bay Area Zone
TJCCSFBA Chief People Officer
Hello everyone, my name is Vincent. I immigrated to the United States when I was 16, and I’ve spent nearly half of my life here. Because of this background, I’m equally familiar with both Taiwanese and American cultures.
Professionally, I also have cross-cultural market experience. I previously worked as an Account Manager at the second-largest Boba Tea wholesaler in the U.S. Currently, I serve as a District Manager for PepsiCo’s Bay Area Zone, where I’ve gained deeper insights into local consumer behavior and market demands.
A little over a year ago, I was fortunate to meet friends from the Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce in the San Francisco Bay Area.
